How To Schedule A Meet & Greet?

You can make your request a few different ways:

What do I need for the Meet & Greet?

My goal during the Meet & Greet is to obtain all information required to perform pet-sitting, dog-walking, and house-sitting services. During our Meet & Greet we will tour your home to learn about your pet’s daily routines, where you keep the pet supplies, and your home security routines.

How do I schedule a Reservation?

If you are a new client, please fill out the contact form so we can ensure you are in our service area and we have availability for your requested dates and services.  If you are an existing client, you can submit your request through the Time To Pet Portal.   You can also email or call me with your request. How far in advance do I need to book services?

We require at least 72 hours notice if you're requesting up to to 5 total visits.  If you are requesting more than 5 visits, we require 10 days notice to secure the dates and times you want. We will try to accommodate you on shorter notice if possible.  Please note, there may be short notice fees involved- see the rates and services tab

How do I pay for Pet Sitting services?

I require full payment 24 hours prior to services.  You can make a payment online by going to the Services & Rates tab or by clicking here.  If you would like to pay by cash or check, this would need to paid during the Meet & Greet (this is for new clients only).

Should I tip my Pet Sitter?

Tips are not expected but greatly appreciated! :)

How will I know when my Pet Sitter has entered my home?

When you complete the pet service agreement, you will decide if you would like daily updates and how you would like to be notified. (via paper log, email or text). When I have completed a visit, you will receive an update with the following information:

- What time my visit started & ended

- Eating & drinking regularly?

- Going to the bathroom?

- Pets temperament

- For dogs, how long the walk was & how it went

- & More

When do I turn over my key? and can I keep keys on file for future reservations?

I recommend that you provide a key during the initial Meet & Greet, to avoid any issues. You can leave a key under the mat or in a hiding place of your choice on the day I will begin pet sitting but this is not recommended.  The reason why it's not recommended to hide your key, someone could take it prior to my visit and I would have no way to enter your home.  Also, there is risk that you could forgot to leave the key. 

You may keep a key on file if you feel that you will need my services again. All client keys are locked in a safe that only myself and my assistant have access to. We also use an internal file number to mark the keys, which ensures that keys cannot be traced back to the client or residence. My clients privacy and security is very important to me!

Are you Insured & Bonded, and what does that mean?

Yes, all of our sitters are insured an bonded. 

 

Insurance
Pet sitter liability insurance works much like any other insurance. It covers accidents that may affect the client’s pets or property while the pet sitter is on an assignment. One of the primary areas of pet sitters or dog walkers insurance is called "Care, Custody & Control" Care, Custody & Control Coverage (CCC) provided coverage for the clients' pets and personal property in the sitter's care, custody or control. This includes pets being transported in a vehicle (pet taxi), damages to the home or property, and veterinarian medical expenses. Claims are paid for by the pet sitters insurance policy.

Bonding
A fidelity bond (or dishonesty bond) usually insures a business in the event that an employee steals from a client. If this happens, and the employee is found guilty of theft, the bonding company will pay for the stolen items. Many sole-proprietors are bonded, but this is mostly for their clients’ peace of mind.

Note: If a pet sitting business does not have employees or independent contractors, bonding isn't a requirement.

Will my dog be walked even if the weather is bad?

In the event of extreme weather (lightning, tornado warning, temperatures above 90ºF or below 20ºF, your visit may be shortened or terminate as outlined in your Pet Sitting Contract.  If a visit is shortened, a credit to your account may apply (some restrictions).

What if something happens to my pet sitter & they are unable to complete my visits?

As a safety precaution, my assistant has a copy of my schedule at all times and has access to emergency contact information.  This way if I am unable to complete a visit due to an emergency, you and/or your emergency contact will be notified. 

What if my pet has an emergency while in my pet sitters care?

If there is an emergency with your pet, your sitter will immediately contact you.  If we are unable to reach you, we will attempt to get a hold of your emergency contact.  If you have choose to "provide immediate care" on your service agreement, you will be contacted once the animal has been brought to the vet hospital.   If your vet hospital is closed, we will use an alternative veterinarian.

Does my pet need to be vaccinated to utilize Pawsitive Petcare 4U services?

Yes, all pets must be up to date on their vaccines to ensure the safety of your sitter and other pets.  

What is your cancellation policy? 

If we receive less than 72 hours notice & you are requesting up to 2 visits, there is a $10 fee will apply.   If we receive less than 72 hours notice and you've scheduled 3 or more visits, a $20 cancellation fee will apply.

Yes, we can provide you with pet sitting and dog walking reference, and we also have many reviews online that you can refer to
